Hi

I would like to demonstrate the features available in Bugzilla, to the organisation I currently work for, as I believe it would address some of the issues we currently have surrounding bug tracking/analysis. Is there any way I can get access to a trial version, that I can customise and use for demonstration purposes?

Thanks

Sandra

None I'm aware of. There have been demo systems online in the past,
but not exclusively for individuals anyway, but those were shut down
recently.

OTOH, Bugzilla isn't that hard to install, so simply give it a try:

Being free software, I would have thought that Bugzilla itself fulfils
the requirement for "a trial version, that I can customise and use for
demonstration purposes". Just download, install and configure as needed
for your demonstration.

Doing a simple install of Bugzilla is not difficult if you have some
reasonable technical skills. I installed Bugzilla a few years ago on a
Windows server and found no particular difficulties in getting it
working (although I'd do it on Linux today). The documentation here,
https://www.bugzilla.org/docs/, is very helpful.

That is a good advice. While Bugzilla in general works on Windows,
some parts of it heavily depend on Perl packages which might not be
available on Windows at all or depending on your Perl distribution.
The mailer queue to send mails in the background has been problematic
in the past. Things like mod_perl for faster responses have been
difficult in the past as well, especially for IIS.

So while Windows itself is not the problem of course, its support by
the community of needed libs etc. might(!) be. Such support problems
are very unlikely on Linux.
