Thanks your reply

But I cannot get any information with the url:
http://bugzilla.example.org.de/editparams.cgi?section=groupsecurity

I cannot get the answer related with the issue from parameter about group:
chartgroup
comment_taggers_group
debug_group
insidergroup
makeproductgroups
or_groups
querysharegroup
strict_isolation
timetrackinggroup
usevisibilitygroups

The Group FAE is created long ago, and after admin add user john to the group FAE, the /var/www/html/bugzilla/data/params.json file in bugzilla web server is not update, there is no change with the file .
And user john can find he is not in group FAE if the bugzilla server he login (web server A) is not the same with the one (web server B) admin adding operation.
It's OK if john login with bugziall web server B.
Bugzilla web server A and web server B use the same database configurated in /var/www/html/bugzilla/localconfig file.
I think the user-group map is stored in database of bugs, so any web server should share the same information, including user list, group list, user group map table.
If not in Group FAE, he cannot process some bugs, and give the error information: You are not in group FAE to process the bug.

I config the memcache with all the bugzilla web server, but the set is differenct with all the bugzilla server.

So, can you give me more information details?

BTW, is there any limit with the number of groups a user can belong to?
Or any limit with the number of groups the bugzilla can create?

Thank you very much

Hi:

I have a problem about user group in bugzilla.
We have 3 bug web server (A, B, C), all use the same mysql database (set in localconfig file), When I add user tta to group FAE, After user tta login to web server A and B, he will found his account in group FAE (by click preferences-permissions), But if user tta login to web server C , he is not in group FAE, I can not know what's happened with it.

Can you give me any help?

Guten Tag Yihui Hu,
After user tta login to web server A and B, he will found his account
in group FAE (by click preferences-permissions), But if user tta login
to web server C , he is not in group FAE,
Some group settings are not stored in the database, but in data/params.json instead per Bugzilla installation. So check those settings in the Admin-UI.

Guten Tag Yihui Hu,

Thanks your reply
Please don't answer to message digests, but individual messages
related to your thread, else it's unnecessary hard to keep track of
your problem.

http://bugzilla.example.org.de/editparams.cgi?section=groupsecurity
Because that was an example, you need to use the domain of your own
Bugzilla installation of course.
[...]

You need to compare those settings of all your different Bugzilla
installations and look fo differences.
Post by Yihui Hu (胡一辉)
The Group FAE is created long ago, and after admin add user john to
the group FAE, the /var/www/html/bugzilla/data/params.json file in
bugzilla web server is not update, there is no change with the file .
Because only SOME group related settings are stored in that file, user
actual user membership is not.
Post by Yihui Hu (胡一辉)
And user john can find he is not in group FAE if the bugzilla
server he login (web server A) is not the same with the one (web
server B) admin adding operation.
And that's why you need to compare all your web server settings and
look for differences and I simply suggestes to start looking at the
group security-settings.
Post by Yihui Hu (胡一辉)
It's OK if john login with bugziall web server B.
Bugzilla web server A and web server B use the same database
configurated in /var/www/html/bugzilla/localconfig file.
So there's obviously some differences in your setup between web server
A and B and you need to find that difference.
Post by Yihui Hu (胡一辉)
I think the user-group map is stored in database of bugs, so any
web server should share the same information, including user list, group list, user group map table.
But as I said already, group info in the database is not the only
thing used by Bugzilla, but settings the mentioned settings in
params.json as wlel and that is per web server in your setup. You
could even have customizations per Bugzilla installation influencing
group related stuff, authentication could be different per Bugzilla
installation etc. You simply need to compare everything which is
individual to a Bugzilla installation.
Post by Yihui Hu (胡一辉)
I config the memcache with all the bugzilla web server, but the set
is differenct with all the bugzilla server.
Don't know what you are trying to tell me, but every difference of
whatever needs to be checked and tested if it is responsible for your
problem.
Post by Yihui Hu (胡一辉)
BTW, is there any limit with the number of groups a user can belong to?
Or any limit with the number of groups the bugzilla can create?
Don't know, if it's not documented somewhere there's either none or
you need to look at the code and find the answer yourself. I never
came accross any information regarding such limits.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
